More and more…

I’ve been making a bunch of new pieces, but I haven’t sold anything in awhile, and it’s making me a bit less motivated.  I’ll get over it ; )
There are so many new things…I’ll just put some small photos on the post. That’ll work, right? Right.  They’re all steampunk pieces.

After receiving a shipment of various findings (Christmassssss), I made a couple of new pieces.

Not much to say…had fun….endured some glue fumes….here they are…

I loovvve this necklace…It’s about 5″ wide.

I heart the art nouveau …ness of it. Also the watch movement–gorgeous!

These little brass wing castings are too cute. I added a tiny watch movement and put it all on an adjustable white gold base.

I’ve been utterly unproductive the past…48 hours or so. I’ve spent most of my time sitting about 4 feet from my significant other….I’m on my laptop…he’s on his….and we’re both playing World of Warcraft. It’s a sad, sad sight. I really want to work on jewelry. I took about some pocket watches a bit ago, and their geary goodness is calling to me. My work area is such a mess, though, so…I need to fix that first. And that’s where I am…in a big puddle of WoW procrastination.
I also have a book calling my name that WoW is sucking me away from. I just started Little Children by Tom Perrotta….I saw the movie last week and fell completely in love. I watched it alone and have been asking all my friends if they’d seen it…no luck. So, yes, now I’m reading the book. By reading…I mean thinking about reading while leveling my undead warlock…that’s right, I said it.
I plan to get back to work and have some pictures of the jewelry up soon :)

Inspired…

I had to get to work in order to post something new, right? I made this at 2 am last night this morning. I found the large gold thing at a thrift store…as I was checking out, the woman working asked if I knew what it was. No idea…Then I get the “Why the hell are you buying it” look. I HAVE A VISION! I didn’t. But it was funky, and I liked it. So, I took that…attached a pocket watch face…and attached a propeller to that. I can’t stop spinning it…It will be hard to part with -spinspinspin-. The random gold thing had three jump connections…so I made a gear connection thing…Yes. I think it might be a belt buckle…okay…done contemplating–here it is!

I’ll post my most recent creations…
Alright this guy happened after staring at about 200 things scattered on a table…I spent about an hour picking up a random watch part…setting it on top of a pair of rusted scissors “No no…that’s not right.” It was probably pretty ridiculous to watch, but I’m super happy with the outcome. I made it to sit the first (horizontal) way. I was taking photos when my significant other tilted the pin and said “I like it this way better.” Oh the options!

This next one was inspired by my mom.
Mom-”You should make a lariat”

Me-”Okay”
Here it is :) I used an old rusty key (lacquered), a watch gear, and a pocket watch case. The key and gear are on one side, and the pocket it watch case is on the other. Rusty key, pocket watch gear, pocket watch case

So, I make jewelry. Mostly steampunk inspired now (new obsession), but I also like making gross stuff out of polymer clay! Neat! I noticed that a lot of Etsy users, crafters, etc, have blogs. It seemed like a fun idea to post my newest creations…yes :)
